Editing Exemption Laws

Use the Setup Exemption Laws window to modify exemptions that have been changed by Congress or by a state legislature.


Adding Exemption Laws

Take the following steps to add Exemption Laws:

  1. Click Setup and select Exemption Laws to open the Exemption Laws Setup window.
  2. Click the Exemption Law Setup tab.
  3. Click to highlight the name of your jurisdiction in the list on the left.
  4. Select your jurisdiction from the Exemption Law Code drop-down menu.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the exemption laws list.
  6. Click inside the empty field next to the asterisk.
  7. Enter information in each applicable field.
  8. Click Close to save changes and exit the Setup Exemption Laws window.

Editing Exemption Laws

Take the following steps to edit Exemption Laws:

  1. Click Setup and select Exemption Laws to open the Exemption Laws Setup window.
  2. Click the Exemption Law Setup tab.
  3. Click the name of your jurisdiction in the list on the left to highlight it.
  4. Select your jurisdiction from the Exemption Law Code drop-down menu.
  5. Click to select the field you want to edit.
  6. Enter information in each applicable field.
  7. Click Close to save changes and exit the Setup Exemption Laws window.

Deleting Exemption Laws

Take the following steps to delete Exemption Laws:

  1. Click Setup and select Exemption Laws to open the Exemption Laws Setup window.
  2. Click the Exemption Law Setup tab.
  3. Click to highlight the name of your jurisdiction in the list on the left.
  4. Select your jurisdiction from the Exemption Law Code drop-down menu.
  5. Click the gray square next to the exemption law you want to delete.
  6. Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
  7. Click OK in the confirmation window.
  8. Click Close to save changes and exit the Setup Exemption Laws window.
