Editing Exemption Laws
Use the Setup Exemption Laws window to modify exemptions that have been changed by Congress or by a state legislature.
Adding Exemption Laws
Take the following steps to add Exemption Laws:
- Click Setup and select Exemption Laws to open the Exemption Laws Setup window.
- Click the Exemption Law Setup tab.
- Click to highlight the name of your jurisdiction in the list on the left.
- Select your jurisdiction from the Exemption Law Code drop-down menu.
- Scroll to the bottom of the exemption laws list.
- Click inside the empty field next to the asterisk.
- Enter information in each applicable field.
- Click Close to save changes and exit the Setup Exemption Laws window.

Editing Exemption Laws
Take the following steps to edit Exemption Laws:
- Click Setup and select Exemption Laws to open the Exemption Laws Setup window.
- Click the Exemption Law Setup tab.
- Click the name of your jurisdiction in the list on the left to highlight it.
- Select your jurisdiction from the Exemption Law Code drop-down menu.
- Click to select the field you want to edit.
- Enter information in each applicable field.
- Click Close to save changes and exit the Setup Exemption Laws window.

Deleting Exemption Laws
Take the following steps to delete Exemption Laws:
- Click Setup and select Exemption Laws to open the Exemption Laws Setup window.
- Click the Exemption Law Setup tab.
- Click to highlight the name of your jurisdiction in the list on the left.
- Select your jurisdiction from the Exemption Law Code drop-down menu.
- Click the gray square next to the exemption law you want to delete.
- Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
- Click OK in the confirmation window.
- Click Close to save changes and exit the Setup Exemption Laws window.
