Explore Content on Lexis

Explore Content is a feature on the Lexis^® service that allows you to navigate through sources to see source availability, combine sources, search, or review results for specific sources you select. As this is additional functionality to Lexis, you still have the choice to either find specific sources to add them as filters or search all the Lexis content.

Navigation

When you navigate through Explore Content you have the choice to navigate all the way down to a particular source, or combine sources within the particular, content type, jurisdiction, or practice area. As you navigate through the links, the service displays the content associated with your selections and automatically adds those selections as search filters. You can run a search in the Search Box, or continue to navigate further.

When you select a source that has a Table of Contents the Table of Contents opens. When you select a source without a Table of Contents, the Advanced Search form appears for the source.

The tab you select persists between sessions. For example, if you use the State tab to navigate to sources now, the next time you open Lexis the State tab is displayed.

Click the Star at the top of any page, such as Cases, to add that page to your list of favorites. Click the Home icon to make that page your research start page.

Combining Sources

If the link you select includes multiple sources within the content type, jurisdiction, or practice area, Lexis displays Search all sources on this page or Select sources to Search. If the link you select is an individual source, the system automatically displays the Advance Search form for that particular content type, jurisdiction, or practice area.

If the category you select has multiple sources, you can click Select sources to search, and check the sources you want to search. You can also make these sources a Favorite by clicking on the star icon.

You can only combine sources or categories that appear on the same page under Explore Content.
