Choosing a Legal Topic in Lexis® Search by Topic or Headnote
Recently Used Legal Topics
Use this option to choose a topic from your most recently selected topics. The Recently Used Legal Topics drop-down list stores up to twenty topics. When you select the twenty-first topic, your selection deletes the oldest topic in your list.
Take the following steps to select a topic from Recently Used Legal Topics:
- Click the down-arrow to display the topic list.
- Click the topic to highlight it.
- Click Go to begin your research.
Find a Legal Topic
Use Find a Legal Topic when you want suggestions for legal topics related to your research issue.
Take the following steps to use the Find a Legal Topic option:
- Enter a brief description of the topic you want(use quotation marks around phrases) and click Find.
- Select the topic you want from the list.
NOTE: You can click the
button for a description of the information covered in a topic.
Explore Legal Topics
Use Explore Legal Topics to browse a list of legal topics related to different areas of law. Click the link for the general topic you want to display. Continue clicking topic links until you find the specific topic you want to search. If you need information about a topic before you select it, click the
for a brief description.
