About the Prerequisites Installer

The Lexis for Microsoft Office Prerequisites Installer first checks your system to determine if your current system configuration includes these required Microsoft components and versions. It also identifies any other Microsoft software that is incompatible with Lexis for Microsoft Office.

  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime (x86) - version 10.0.30319
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended - version 4.0.30319
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile - version 4.0.30319
  • If your system has all the required Microsoft components and versions, the Prerequisites Installer generates a message instructing you to open the Lexis for Microsoft Office download site and download the Lexis for Microsoft Office software.
  • If your system does not have all the required Microsoft components, the Prerequisite Installer automatically installs them for you.

NOTE:

If the Lexis for Microsoft Office Prerequisites Installer determines that your current system configuration includes Microsoft components that are incompatible with Lexis for Microsoft Office, it prompts you to remove or update those components before proceeding with the installation. If you encounter any persistent errors during this process, contact Customer Support.

Installation Instructions

Take the following steps to install the Lexis for Microsoft Office Prerequisites Installer:

  1. Verify that you completed the System Preparation.
  2. Click the All System Preparation steps have been completed checkbox.
  3. Click lmoPrerequisitesSetup.exe.
  4. Click Continue at the Do you want to continue prompt.
  5. Click Save to open the Save As window.
  6. Select your Desktop and click Save.
  7. Double-click the lmoPrerequisitesSetup.exe desktop icon.
  8. Click Run to launch the Lexis for Microsoft Office - InstallShield Wizard.
    NOTE: If your computer prompts you for software to open the file with, close the Open with window and rename the lmoPrerequisitesSetup icon to lmoPrerequisitesSetup.exe.

    The InstallShield Wizard displays the following screens as it begins the installation process:

    If your screen displays the Overwrite Protection message, click Yes to All.

  10. Click Finish to reboot your computer.

    After your computer reboots, the InstallShield Wizard displays another series of installation windows.

  11. Click Finish to complete the Prerequisite Installation.

  12. Go to the Download Lexis for Microsoft Office site after you complete the Prerequisites Installation and scroll down to Step 3 to download Lexis for Microsoft Office.
