DDE Connection to Acrobat Failed
Problem Description
You install Adobe Reader version XI or DC. and then try to print a graphical form from the HotDocs Filler and receive the error message.

Suggestion 1
- Click on File
- Select Send Document To
- Select Adobe Acrobat 11
Suggestion 2
Adding or modifing the registry key will resolve the error.

Perform the following steps to backup the registry:
- Click Start, then select Run.
- Type Regedit and press Enter.
- Click File/Export. Select Export Range:All at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose a place to save the file, enter a file name, and click Save.
- Click Start > Run
- Type regedit and click OK
- Expand to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HotDocs\Internal.
- With the Internal folder selected, click Edit/New/String Value.
- Name the new string Acrobat DDE Service Name.
- Double-click on Acrobat DDE Service Name to open the Edit String window.
- Enter one of the following:
- AcroViewR11 for Adobe Reader XI
- AcroViewA11 for Adobe Pro XI
- AcroViewR15 for Adobe Reader DC
- AcroViewA15 for Adobe Pro DC
- Click OK.
- Close the Registry Editor.
- Print the graphical form.
