 General information about eBooks

eBooks are available in 3 formats:
  • ePub works with all Apple products, such as the iPad and iPhone, Sony Reader, Barnes & Noble nook, PC, or Mac using Adobe Digital Editions software or other compatible eReader.
  • Mobi works with the Kindle and BlackBerry. There are also free e-reader programs for desktop and laptop computers. For example, Amazon offers free reading apps for most devices. Customers can visit amazon.com for more information.
  • PDF works with any device that has Adobe Acrobat, or Reader on it. Several browsers can also open PDF files.

Pagination in eBooks may vary based on the device, reader, and font you use, and will not match the pagination in the print format.

You receive an email when a new release is available for each eBook you have purchased. The email directs you to the Download Center to purchase the new update.

eBook licensing is currently 1 user to 1 copy.

In addition to eBooks, the LN Store now delivers downloadable software for:

  • Automated Forms and LexisNexis® CD – Downloadable .exe file replacing CD/DVD shipments
  • Forms on Disc (FOD) - Downloadable .zip file replacing CD/DVD shipments

 How to Order eBooks

You can place an order for eBooks through the LexisNexis® Store or through a Sales Representative. Once you place your order, you receive an email that contains a link to the Download Center. The email contains a generic password if you do not have a store account.

If you placed your order through the LexisNexis® Store, the email contains the email address you used at the time of order and a generic password to be used for your first login. You will then be directed to your Profile to change your password. After you create a new password, you should use this new password to sign into your LexisNexis® Store account in the future.

 Read Now

Beginning Feb. 2016, eBook customers can read their LexisNexis eBooks instantly from the eBook Download Center using Read Now powered by OverDrive Read. This eliminates the need for downloads or special software on a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Customers see a blue Read Now button next to their title. They can click or tap the button and start reading. Their eBook opens in a new tab in the browser they are using. This is currently available for all ePub/mobi formats on titles from 2014 forward.

Any eBook Read Now technical questions must be transferred to eBooks Technical Support at CSNA_TECH_BASE. Any OverDrive Read questions must be transferred to the Coaching split at CSNA_PDS Coach. It is important that you ask the customer which platform (eBook Download Center or Digital Library on the OverDrive Platform) they are using in order to transfer them correctly.
