You can search for dockets and documents as well as a combination of both on Lexis® CourtLink® using the search box. You can use natural language or terms and connectors (Boolean) searches in the Keyword field.

Note:  Lexis CourtLink search character limit is 5,000 characters in the Keyword search box, including spaces.  The Search Within Results feature is limited to 1,000 characters. CourtLink does not provide a warning message to let you know that you exceeded the character limit, so any terms after the character limit are ignored.


   

 Dockets

Take the following steps to create a search for dockets on the CourtLink service:
  1. Select Dockets in the for drop-down list under Search.
  2. Select the court in the within drop-down list.
  3. Enter your search criteria in the search box and/or any of the fields which are specific to your court selections. Enter leading zeros when you search by Docket Number. 
  4. Click Search.

Take the following steps to create a search for documents on the Lexis CourtLink service:
  1. Select Court Documents in the for drop-down list under Search.
  2. Select the court in the within drop-down list.
  3. Enter your search terms or docket number in the search box.
  4. Click Search.

  1. Select Documents & Documents in the for drop-down list under Search.
  2. Select the court in the within drop-down list.
  3. Enter your search terms or docket number in the search box.
