Government Agency and On Government Behalf Secondary Permissible Use
Guidelines for Use of Public Records
There are a couple of resources available to reference as you chose your permissible use for DPPA regulated data. First, please read through and understand the Guidelines for Use of Public Records document, which contains a section specific to DPPA, GLBA, and DMF permissible uses.

DPPA Definitions
Also in product, there is a link to the DPPA Full Definitions on the Terms for Use of Data page within Public Records, which you can consult to help determine which permissible use to select. Please be aware that LexisNexis employees including Customer Support are unable to provide advice on which permissible use to select. If you are unsure which use to select after consulting the Guidelines for Use of Public Records or the DPPA Definitions , please consult your manager or Legal Counsel. When in doubt or unsure, you may select "I have no permissible use" and still be able to search and access non regulated Public Records data sources.
Once you have selected Permissible Uses and clicked Confirm, you are navigated into the Public Records home page. To select a different permissible use, scroll to the bottom of the Public Records home page and click the link next to either Your DPPA Permissible Use or Your GLBA Permissible Use. Both links navigate you back to the Terms for Use of Data / Permissible Use screen where you can reselect your choices for each use.
Note: Your organization's available permissible uses are determined and set during the credentialing process. If you wish to change or add permissible uses, please reach out to your LexisNexis® Account Representative.
