Prepare to Upload Documents to CaseMap Cloud
Understand the following:
- As of August 2023:
- Any files larger than 2 GB cannot be uploaded into CMC.
- Examples: Documents / Depositions / Transcripts / Exhibits / Images / Audio / Videos
- Any files larger than 50 MB in size are not going to be indexed and therefore not be searchable.
- Note: Files that exceed our file size limitation can often be reduced in size by the originator of the file or potentially through using third party compression applications. This process would be out of scope for CaseMap Customer support to assist with. Though, if the file needs to be added such a course of action may be required of the customer and thus require additional expert assistance to achieve an upload to CMC.
- Any files larger than 2 GB cannot be uploaded into CMC.
- Files with unsupported extensions cannot be uploaded
- File names should ideally be restricted to the below set of characters €“ any other character might cause a system error
- Alphanumeric characters: 0-9 a-z A-Z
- Special characters: ! - _ . * ' ( ) blank
- If a file is 11.5 mb or larger, that file can not be indexed. While the file can still be uploaded, it is not searchable.
Note: Consecutive blanks might be truncated to a single blank or removed entirely by the system.
To upload document files,
- Click Documents in the left navigation.
- Click
. Click Upload Doc Files.
- Your OS file browser appears; select a file to upload.
- Click Open. Your document is now uploading, indexed, and checked for viruses.
The status of the document upload can be viewed in the Uploads Contextual Menu.
Refresh the page to view the newly uploaded documents in the list when they are available.
Note:
Documents uploaded as exhibits from TextMap or connected to a TextMap transcript as an exhibit display an exhibit icon below the paperclip icon.
