The Court Templates feature helps you select a court or multiple court systems without having to navigate to each court individually. There are 3 templates that are listed by default. You can create your own templates though. The default templates are: 
  • All Federal Civil Courts
  • All Federal Criminal Courts
  • All State Courts (non-Federal)

Creating a Court Template

Take the following steps to create your own Court Template: 
  1. Select the court or courts you want to include in your template
  2. Click Save Courts as Template
  3. Enter a name in the Name Your Template box. 
  4. Click Save

Setting a Template as a Default

You can set a template as a default so that way you can retain that as your default court(s). Take the following steps to set a template as your default template: 
  1. Click the within All Courts drop-down. 
  2. Click the + sign to the left of Court Templates.
  3. Click Set as Default for the template that you want to be your default. 
    Note:  This feature is sticky in that it retains this information from session to session.

Removing a Court Template for a Search in Another Court

There are 2 ways you can remove a default. The first way only removes the default for the next search and retains the default for searches after that. To remove the default for only the next search, click Clear in the Courts drop-down. 

To remove your default court completely, take the following steps:
  1. Click the within All Courts drop-down. 
  2. Click the + sign to the left of Court Templates.
  3. Click Remove as Default
