Problem Description
A user reports no search results (spinning wheel).
Suggested Action
Take the following steps to stop and then restart the Tomcat service to resolve the issue:
- Click the Start button located in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
- Type Services in the search box.
- Click Services or Services (Desktop app) in the search results.
- Right click the Lexis Search Advantage toolkit Tomcat9 service.
(Optional) Click Properties. - Click Stop.
- (Optional) Verify the service stopped by looking at the Status column in the Services Manager window.
Note: If it shows Stopped, then the service is no longer running.
- Read the confirmation dialog box that may appear warning you that stopping the service also stops any dependent services and make sure you understand the consequences.
- Click Yes to confirm and stop the service.

Note: If it shows Stopped, then the service is no longer running. - Right-click on the Lexis Search Advantage toolkit Tomcat9 service you want to start to open a context menu.
- Click Start.
Note: Wait for the service to start. Depending on the service and your system's configuration, it may take a few moments for the service to start.
- (Optional) Monitor the Status column in the Services window to see when the service changes from Stopped to Running.
- Verify the status by checking the Ping Servlet.
Note: Once the service has restarted, the status in the Ping Servlet may appear as initializing.
- Refresh the browser intermittently until the status shows Ready.
Note: This typically takes 1 minute. - Return to the transactional page.
- Refresh the page.
