The following is included:

  • The PDMQ extended searches that use stored procedures (e.g., DQ - Prioritized Cleanup Potential Duplicate People by Email) fail with an ODBC exception error. (274369 (6798)
 


Refer to the bottom of the page for issues resolved in previous Desktop Application updates.



Requirements for this update
- IA_DB_Patch_Release_23_008, or higher
Application Server version 8.01, or higher
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4, or higher




This Update is available as a setup.exe file. It is a full install of the InterAction Desktop Applications.

The setup.exe file can be used on any workstation regardless of whether or not the InterAction Desktop Applications are installed. If a previous version of the InterAction Desktop Applications is installed, the old version will be uninstalled and this version will be installed.




Notes:
  1. Please make sure the updates are applied in the following order: Database, Application Server
  2. This update cannot be installed on the same machine as the InterAction Toolbar for Word and Web Client (also known as the 'InterAction PIM Integration and Web Client', or PIM install).
  3. Review our Version Compatibility Matrix guide as it documents the combined configurations of InterAction applications and their use with other 3rd party applications, operating systems and database platforms. For each InterAction component, the supported 3rd party products are listed along with any notes that may be important in your planning process.
  4. Desktop v7.12, or higher, requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4, or higher. Note: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 will still be needed if either the InterAction Administrator (v7.10 or lower), or Application Collaboration is installed on the same machine as Desktop v 7.12, or higher. 

 


Installation Instructions
 

  1. Download the 'IA8_Client_Update_19.zip' file.
  2. Unzip the file.
  3. Right-click the setup.exe and choose the option to 'Run as administrator'. Follow the prompts to install the application.

Additional steps if only TLS 1.2 is enabled
Changes to the INTRACTN.ini file may may be required if TLS 1.2 only is enabled. See Enabling InterAction applications to work with TLS 1.2 for more details.



Additional Notes
If you're installing the 'InterAction Add-in for Word 2016' on machines with Office 365 ProPlus (64-bit) Click to Run then you'll need to perform the following step on the workstation(s):

  1. Copy/Paste the IADesktop201x.dotm file from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\Startup" to "C:\Users\<user profile>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP"
  2. Launch Word and the InterAction tab should now be displayed.

  • Windows Client dialogs can be inaccessible because they open off screen requiring a change in the Windows registry to resolve. The Windows Client has been modified to prevent the dialogs from opening off screen. (9143) (3233)
  • Custom extended searches do not run properly and generate error, "A Database error occurred while attempting to retrieve the number of Contacts that satisfy the search criteria". (267627) (6697)
  • Windows Client shows the incorrect user that created a working list if the Folder Owner has changed. (268240)

  • The selections in the drop-down menu on the last screen of the new contact wizard do not match the correct icons (e.g., The folders icon is displayed next to Related Contacts instead of Folders). (265883)
  • The Company Association dialog does not return companies in the following languages even though they exist as company contacts in InterAction: Chinese, Greek, Japanese, Korean, Russian (265679)

  • Modified a stored procedure used by the 'IADB_Patch_Release_23_008' Database Update. The calls to the stored procedure were also modified in this Desktop Update. (265113) (6682)



23M08 - 8.12 (Aug 17, 2023)

  • Creating a contact with a special character (e.g., ñ) generates the following error message: "Unclosed quotation mark after the character string" (261279) (6644)
  • Performing Association Cleanup on a large number of contacts (up to 35,000) generates message "Runtime Error!" (261084) 
  • Corrected some queries triggered by Windows Client features that resulted in long wait times and sometimes memory errors. The following features were affected and have been modified for performance improvements: (261727) (6644)

23M07 - 8.11 (Jul 20, 2023)

  • Actions in the Windows Client generate an error regarding stored procedure INTP_GET_NEXTKEY_APP, if the application is configured to use ODBC driver 17 or ODBC driver 18. (257504) (6611)



23M06 - 8.10 (Jun 15, 2023)

  • All of the information entered in the Firm Notes field may not be displayed due to a truncation issue even though all of the data is stored in the field. (238916) (6470)
  • Reminders get created for all contacts within a folder instead of the selected contact only, if the reminder is created on-behalf of another user. (252878)
  • The global mailing address setting is automatically selected while creating new addresses. (246106) (6509)



23M05 - 8.09 (May 18, 2023)

  • Using Folder Name to match contacts in the Folder Link field group in both the Import and Advanced Import features, results in the contacts getting added to a different folder (e.g., Prospect Personnel) in InterAction than the one specified in the .csv import file (e.g., Prospect).   • Updated the version of the MSCOMCTL.ocx file from version 6.0 to 6.1 within the Desktop install*. (252383)

*This update of the MSCOMCTL.ocx file was not applied in v8.02 of the Desktop applications as previously indicated.
 


23M04 - 8.08 (Apr 20, 2023)

  • Running Association Cleanup on a large number of unassociated contacts generates error message "Out of memory". The Association Cleanup utility has been modified to handle up to 35,000 contacts. (236524) (6450)
  • Changing the Company Name and/or Company AKA on a company contact might not be reflected on all person contacts associated with the company*. (236651) (6443)
  • Replaced the third-party Chilkat library with LibCurl for SMTP messages sent by this InterAction client. (249737)


*This version of the Desktop prevents the issue from happening moving forward. Person contacts affected by this defect will be fixed by the InterAction Database Maintenance sync process as long as IA_DB_Patch_Release_23_004, or higher, has been applied to the InterAction database.

  • Fixed an error that is generated while working with Extension additional fields in the Field Extension Settings dialog. The error only happens if alternate SQL user accounts have replaced the default SQL user accounts, IDCAPP and IDCDFLT. (246511)

  • Searching for contacts using the Word add-in within 32-bit Word returns the following error: "InterAction Objects Error 0 (0). (245927)
  • My Contacts are not returned when searching for them using the Word add-in within 64-bit Word. (245927)
  • The Help About dialog for the Word add-in was displaying the incorrect version of InterAction. (243823)
