The information in this article applies to the following LexisNexis® products and services: Lexis+®, Lexis®, Nexis®, Nexis Diligence™, Nexis® for Development Professionals, and Nexis® for Real Estate.

You can deliver LexisNexis® Public Records documents via download, email or print. Public Records documents cannot be delivered to a LexisNexis® dedicated printer.

Public Records delivery selections and emails addresses are saved from session to session. Click Clear to restore delivery default settings. For email delivery, click Clear to remove saved email addresses.

Public Records documents can be delivered in the following formats with the following limits:

  • Full Format (maximum of 200 documents)
  • Results List Format (maximum of 1000 documents)

Public Records documents can be downloaded in PDF, Word (DOCX), WordPerfect (WPD), Excel (XLSX) and Plain Text File (TXT) formats.

Take the following steps to download Public Records documents:

  1. Click the Download icon in the upper left-hand corner.
  2. Select the Format (PDF, TXT, DOCX, WPD, or XLSX).
    Note - The .XLSX format is not available for the Smartlinx Comprehensive Reports.  For additional information regarding delivery options for the Smartlinx Comprehensive Reports, please see the section entitled Document Delivery in SmartLinx Comprehensive Person Report .
  3. Select Zip Files if the document(s) needs to be compressed into a smaller file.
  4. Select the Document View.
  5. Select Each Document New Page to have each result start on a new page.
  6. Select the Document Range.
  7. Click OK.
A Processing Delivery screen displays. When the Delivery Complete screen displays, your results have been successfully downloaded and you can do 1 of the following actions:
  • If prompted by your browser, Open the results or Save the results to a location on your computer or network.
  • If you are not prompted to open or save the delivered results, check your browser's default location for delivered documents.

Click Close on the Delivery Complete screen. Your download request is also saved in your Lexis History. You can retrieve your download from History for 10 days.

Email

Public Records documents can be emailed in PDF, Word (DOCX), WordPerfect (WPD) , or Excel (XLSX)formats.

Take the following steps to email Public Records documents.

  1. Click the Email icon in the upper left corner.
  2. Enter a maximum of 3 email addresses, separated with semicolon (;), in the To field.
    Note: Email addresses are saved from session to session. Click Clear to remove the email address.
  3. Change the email subject if you want to use a different subject line.
    Note: You can enter up to 126 characters. The Lexis service prepopulates the Email Subject box with the document title or the number of documents you selected.
  4. Add a note in the Note box if you want to include a note.
    Note: You can enter up to 4,000 characters in the Note box.
  5. Select the Format (PDF, DOCX, WPD, or XLSX ).
    Note - The .XLSX format is not available for the Smartlinx Comprehensive Reports.  For additional information regarding delivery options for the Smartlinx Comprehensive Reports, please see the section entitled Document Delivery in SmartLinx Comprehensive Person Report .
  6. Check Zip Files if the document(s) need to be compressed into a smaller file.
  7. Select the Document View.
  8. Select Each Document New Page to have each result start on a new page.
  9. Select the Document Range.
  10. Click OK.

A Processing Delivery screen displays. When the Delivery Complete screen displays, your results have been successfully emailed. Click Close on the Delivery Complete screen.

Note: When you email Public Records results, the service sends 2 attachments. The first attachment contains the search string, and the second attachment contains the results.

The History feature shows Processing Delivery until the delivery is complete. If the job is successful, you do not see a status message beneath the document title in History. You cannot re-deliver Public Records emails from your Lexis History. You must retrieve the results if you want to email them again.

Print

Public Records documents can only be printed in PDF format.

Take the following steps to print Public Records documents:

  1. Click the Print icon in the upper left corner.
  2. Select the Document View.
  3. Select Each Document New Page to have each result start on a new page.
  4. Select the Document Range.
  5. Click OK.
    Note: A new window opens to indicate the service is processing the print. If the window does not open, check pop-up blockers.
  6. A Processing Delivery screen displays followed by the print request results.
  7. Use your browser's print functions to print the requested results.
  8. The print request is also saved in your search history.

Use your browser's print functions to print the results. Your print request is also saved in your Lexis History. You can retrieve your prints from History for 10 days.

Smartlinx


When delivering documents (download, email, print) from a Smartlinx Comprehensive Person report, the various sections of the report that are open on screen carry over to delivery.  However, if the section is collapsed on screen, then the section will be collapsed in the delivered document - with a notation of documents found.  For example, if there are results in the Real Property section and that section is collapsed on the screen, then the delivery will not deliver that entire section.  Instead, there will be a listing for Real Property, with numbers next to it for current and prior (e.g. - Real Property (5 current, 15 prior).  Click here to see a screen shot.
