Registering for Summer Access

If you are a law school student and want full access to the LexisNexis® services for the summer, you need to register for full summer access. You must participate in one of the following qualifying activities to be eligible for full educational access on your law school ID during the summer:

  • Class preparation and assignments
  • Research associated with moot court or law review / law journal
  • Research associated with pursuing a grant or scholarship
  • Service as a research assistant to a professor (either paid or unpaid)
  • An unpaid internship / externship or clinic position for school credit
  • Bar Review
  • Clerkship for credit

Launch the http://www.lexisnexis.com/lawschool web page to register for summer access. One or more of the following registration methods are available to you depending on your law school's Web page and system configuration or if you are not signed on or if you are already signed on:


Register Now (not signed on)

  1. Click Register Now to the right of the LexisNexis Custom ID / Password fields.
  2. Enter your 7 character activation code and click Next.
  3. Click to check the Summer Access Sign Up box to certify that you will use your ID for a legitimate summer use.
  4. Click to select your qualifying use.
  5. Click Next.

Register Here link from the scrolling information banner (signed on)

  1. Click the Register Here link on the Need to research over the summer? banner.

    2. NOTE: If you don't see the Register Here link, click 1 underneath the banner to return to Need to research over the summer?.
  2. Click Register for Summer Access.
  3. Click to check the Summer Access Sign Up box to certify that you will use your ID for a legitimate summer use.
  4. Click to select your qualifying use.
  5. Click Next.

Update Registration Information (signed on)

  1. Click the Get Help tab in the middle of the page.
  2. Click the Update Registration Information link on the left-hand side of the page.
  3. Click to check the Summer Access Sign Up box to certify that you will use your ID for a legitimate summer use.
  4. Click to select your qualifying use.
  5. Click Next.
